The obituary for Mr. Larry Wayne Melton Officiating Minsters: Rev. Clifton Adams & George Maggard Larry Wayne Melton of Wooton, KY., born June 26, 1946, the son of the late Manuel Melton & June Hensley Melton, departed this life on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY. He was 68 years old. Larry was a life-long resident of Leslie County. Larry was a retired coal miner having worked for Blue Diamond Coal Co. for 39 & one half years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to church, cooking & organizing family cookouts. Larry was especially known for his cooked hams. He was a devoted member of the McIntosh Church of God at Wooton, KY.& enjoyed going to church and studying his Bible. Larry cherished the time his spent with his family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his loving & devoted wife, Jerlene Collins Melton, two beloved daughters, Angela Melton & Rose Melton, son-in-law, Thomas Griffith, infant sister, Betty Melton & two brothers, Sonny Melton & Ronnie Melton. He leaves the following relatives surviving, three sons, Wade Melton & Melvina, Chavies, KY., Michael Melton & Whitney, Wooton, KY.,& Christopher Melton, Wooton, KY., three daughters, Sherry Griffie, Hazard, KY., Wanda Melton, DavenPort, VA & Jessica Napier, Thousandsticks, KY., four brothers, Ed Melton & Sue, Clay Co., KY., Donald "Donnie" Melton & Sandra, Smilax, KY., Glenn Melton & Linda, Sizerock, KY. & Rick Melton & Pam, Morristown, TN., three sisters, Mildred Bowling & Jay, Wooton, KY., Prudy Stewart & Reed, Jeremiah, KY. & Deborah Pratt, Cornettsville, KY., three grandchildren, Nicole Griffie, Kristin Griffie & Amanda Napier, six adopted grandchildren, Jered Asher, Tommy Milburn, Ethan Altizer, Spencer Hunt, Owen Hunt, Markena Kilburn; Special church friend, Eunice Parker, church friends and sister-in-laws; Lorene Coots, Irene Melton & Pauline Mitchell. A host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive also survive. FUNERAL: Sunday, May 31, 2015 @ 2:00 P.M. at the McIntosh Church of God, Wooton, KY. MINISTERS: Rev.
