Hettie Brock

Hettie Gross Brock born November 20, 1928 departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Harlan Health & Rehab Center, Harlan, KY. She was 86 years old. Hettie was born at Saylor, Ky., the daughter of the late Shelby Gross & Betty Collett Gross. Hettie was a homemaker & devoted member of the Greenhill Pentecostal Church, Bledsoe, Ky., She was a life-long resident of Leslie County and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, flower gardening, singing in church, reading her bible, attending Senior Citizens, & most importantly being involved in the lives of her family. Mrs. Hettie Gross Brock was preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband; Willie Brock, Sr., two daughters; Polly Burns, Ola Jean Brock, one son; Wilburn Brock, three sisters; Mathie Hollins, Essie Nolan & Tilda Mae Gordon. Mrs. Hettie Gross Brock leaves the following relatives surviving: one son; Willie Brock, Jr. & wife, Oma Sue of Helton, Ky., two daughters; Eulain Caldwell and husband, Julius of Bledsoe, Ky., Wanda Howard and husband, Kenneth of Helton,Ky. one brother; Shelby Caldwell of South Carolina, seven sisters: Bessie Caldwell and husband, Virgil of Crossville, Tennessee, Pliney Seymour of Daytona Beach, Florida, Chloe Simpson of Helton, Ky., Nancy Bailey of Illinois, Myrtle North and husband, Elvin of Illinois, Evelyn Simpson of Illinois, Judy Ann Pollitt and husband, Rick of London, Ky., 12 grandchildren, 19 great, grandchildren, 5 great, great, grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
