The obituary of Mrs. Sadie Lewis Rice Officiating Minister: Reverend Cova Asher Mrs. Sadie Lewis Rice, age 70, of 143 Juder Lewis Road, Thousandsticks, KY 41766, born January 15, 1945 departed this life on Friday, March 20, 2015 at her residence. Sadie was born in Thousandsticks, KY, the daughter of the late Juder and Helen Couch Lewis. She was affiliated with the Midway Pentecostal Church and was a Homemaker as an occupation. Sadie enjoyed sewing, playing guitar, singing gospel hymns. She was responsible for writing numerous gospel hymns and poems herself. Mrs. Sadie Lewis Rice was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters; Rosie Lewis, Nancy Welch, and Mae Rochinski. Mrs. Sadie Lewis Rice leaves the following relatives surviving: Loving and Devoted Husband Charles Rice, 2 sons; Donald Wayne Rice of Lexington, KY and Jesse D. Rice of Thousandsticks, KY, one daughter; Glenda Young of Thousandsticks, KY, four brothers; Clinton Lewis of Hyden, KY, Thurman Lewis of Thousandsticks, KY, Frank Lewis of Thousandsticks, KY, and Purl Lewis of Thousandsticks, KY. 2 sisters; Mildred Freeman of Nicholasville, KY and Polly Schaefer of Dayton, OH. 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends also survive. The following served as pallbearers: J.J. Gilbert, J.D. Rice, Charlie White, Kenneth Purvis, Donald Rice and Brandon Rice.
