Age 86, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Wayne Hospital. He was born March 24, 1928 to the late Floyd & Edna (Spitler) Coy in Xenia, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his siblings Ethel Flaugher, Upton Coy, Lawrence Coy, Esther Haney, and Marie Baker. He will be missed and remembered by his loving wife Carolene (Morgan) Coy, children Marian Greenawalt of Florence, South Carolina, Duane Coy of Bradford, Samuel Coy of Bradford, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and sibling Vernice Tussey of Troy. Herman served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Church, worked at the Dayton Newspapers for 45 years, and loved gardening and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Hale-Sarver Family Funeral Home, 284 N. Miami St, West Milton with Rev. John Shelton officiating. Burial will be held at 12:00 PM on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Morgan Family Cemetery in Hoskinston, Kentucky. Full Military Rites will be observed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter # 133.
