Mrs. Mallie Asher of 101 Woodson Branch Rd., Hyden, KY., passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her residence at the age of 85. She was born on August 4, 1928 in Hyden, Kentucky the daughter of the late Lawrence Sizemore and the late Cartie Muncy Sizemore. Mallie was employed as a clerk at Keens Variety Store for many faithful years and at the Hyden Book Store also. She enjoyed flower gardening, home decorating, and being a seamstress. To her family and neighbors, Mallie was more notably known as the matriarch of "Bear Hollow." She was a devoted member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County Mallie was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Cartie Sizemore, husband: Carlo Asher, one son: Orville Eugene Asher, brother: Arvil Sizemore and sister: Mary Rose Lewis. Mallie leaves surviving the following relatives:Son: Bobby Cordell Asher of Hyden, KY, daughter: Dana Lynn Tennill & David of Hyden, KY, six grandchildren: Suzanne Deaton & Keith, Dustin Tennill & Julie, Whitney Asher, Lauren Asher, James Robert "Jim Bob" Tennill & Karen, and Courtney Kleppinger & Jonathan. Special friends: Paula & Breanna Barger and Emily Collett. Great grandchildren:McKenna Brooke Deaton, Zane Keith Deaton, Isabella Lee Cobb, Kaleb Marshall Cobb, Lukas Benjamin Robert Cobb, Jonah David Tennill, David James Tennill, Caleb Jwayne Neace, Colby Dwayne Neace, Mallie Jayden Elizabeth Kleppinger Mallie is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. The following will serve as pallbearers, Dustin Tennill, Jim Bob Tennill, Jonathan Kleppinger, Jeff Asher, Billy Ray Jones, and Keith Deaton.
