Merle Caudill Mrs. Hattie Asher of 18 Skeens Cemetery Rd., Wooton, KY. was born on July 23, 1935 at Yeaddiss, KY., the daughter of the late Tinsley Coots & Taffie Shell Coots. She passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, Hazard, KY.at the age of 78 years, 9 months & 19 days. Hattie was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a retired cook for the Hyden Senior Citizens Center for 10 years. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and of the Eastern Star Silver Bow Chapter. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, baking & cooking but most important being involved in the lives of her family. Hattie Asher was preceded in death by her parents, her loving and devoted husband, Vetch Asher, one sister, Marie Farler & two brothers: Columbus & Carlos Coots, & two infant brothers. She leaves the following relatives surviving: one son, Denton D. Asher & Sonya of Wooton, KY., one daughter, Maxine Perkins & Jerry of Jamestown, KY., one brother, Donald Coots of London, KY., three sisters, Athlene Smith of Harlan, KY., Edith Coots of Yeaddiss, KY. & Dorothy Knight of Hazard, KY., two grandchildren, Kayla Renee Asher & Dakota Bowling & Matthew Asher & Courtney, special friend Mary Coots, sister-in-law: Norma J. Asher. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive.
