The obituary of Rev. John E. Asher Rev. John E. Asher born September 28, 1928 passed away on May 6, 2014 at the Hazard ARH Hospital in Hazard, KY. He was born in Leslie County the son of the late Farmer Asher and the late Winnie Muncy Asher. By occupation Rev. John E. Asher was a minister and a retired coal miner. He faithfully evangelized in many churches throughout Eastern, KY. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, KY with the exception of having lived in Laurel County from 1988-1996. Rev. John Asher enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting and fishing as hobbies. Rev. Asher was preceded in death by his parents: Farmer and Winnie, wife: Elizabeth Asher, brothers: Stanley and Curt Asher, sisters: Ollie Asher, Betty Helen Maggard, Dallie Asher and Betsy Asher. He leaves surviving the following relatives: son: Randy Asher of Hyden, KY, sisters: Jean Muncy of Hyden, KY and Edna Harmon of Stinnett, KY, special friends: Wilk & Bonnie Hoskins, Jerry Hacker and John Wayne Simpson. He also leaves surviving a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
