Lovett was born on July 30, 1924 in Bolivia, North Carolina, the daughter of the late, John Maggard & Orlena Bowling Maggard. She passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY. at the age of 89 years, 6 months & 7 days. She had been a resident of Richmond for the past 7 years coming from Hyden, KY. By occupation Hazel was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church at Hyden. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, attending Senior Citizens, playing cards, traveling & crossword puzzles. Hazel M. Lovett was preceded in death by her parents: John & Orlena Maggard, husband: Edgar Lovett, 3 brothers: Boone, Ben & Paul Maggard & sister-in-law: Melva Maggard She leaves the following relatives surviving: son: Edgar Lee "Eddie" Lovett, Jr. of Richmond, KY., daughter: Peggy Lynn Covey & Clayton of Richmond, KY., brothers: Dave Maggard & Helen of Irvine, KY. & Ed Maggard & Carrie of Richmond, KY., sisters: Mary Ethel Collins & Charles of Birmingham Al., Leona Begley of Zebulon, N.C. & Patricia McKinney & Richard of Richmond, KY., sister-in-law: Audrey Maggard, grandchildren: Tony Pennington, Kim Pennington Huffman, Amy Pennington Brudnicki, Chad Baker, Kyle Lovett & Duke Covey, 11 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren.
