Richard Baker

Richard Baker, 62 of Wooton, KY. passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard. Richard was born on June 26, 1951 in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Wilmer Baker and the late Marie Cochran Baker. By occupation he was a Coal Miner, was also owner and operator of Baker's Mini Mart in Wooton, Kentucky. Richard was affiliated with the Wooton Presbyterian Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. He was a member of the Wooton Lions Club and enjoyed gardening and fishing as hobbies. Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Wilmer and Marie Baker, two brothers: Donald and Hillard; one brother in law: Denzel Howard. he leaves surviving the following relatives: beloved and devoted wife: Katherine Maggard Baker of Wooton, KY, Son: Jason Richard Baker of Wooton, KY and Daughter Catherine Amanda Baker & Companion Scott of Wooton, KY; two brothers: James Nathan Baker & Alberta of Lexington, KY, Jerry Lynn Baker & Betty of Wooton, KY, six sisters: Wanda Faye Cody of Connecticut, Geneva Buslewicz, Phyllis Jean Collins & David of Florida, Wilma Sue Jackson & Leland of Illinois, Dianna Gatson & Rick Allen of Richmond, KY, Mary I. Howard of Wooton, KY, Sister-in-law: Beverly Baker of London, KY, two Grandchildren: Keenan and Alex. Richard is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
