Mr. Larkin Maggard, husband of Edna passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. Larkin was born at Cutshin, KY on September 22, 1932 the son of the late Orie Maggard and the late Mae Callahan Maggard. By occupation he was a retired Blue Diamond Coal Miner and had also worked for the Leslie County Board of Education. Mr. Larkin Maggard was a devoted member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. He was a avid hunter especially enjoyed hunting of Rabbit, a fisherman, and also working in the garden. Mr. Larkin Maggard was preceded in death by his parents: Orie and Mae Maggard, one sister: Stella Johnson and one brother: Ray Maggard. He leaves surviving the following relatives: loving and devoted wife: Edna Hamblin Maggard of Hyden, KY, two daughters, Nannie Kay & Mayor Lonnie Hendrix of Hyden, KY, Zola Wells of Hyden, KY, three sons: Lonnie Keith Maggard of Hyden, KY, Isaac Maggard & Tina of Stinnett, KY, Chris Maggard & Natasha of Louisville, KY, three brother: Lawrence Maggard of Wooton, KY, Isaac Maggard & Mabel of Owenton, KY & Thomas Maggard of Clay County, KY.; one sister: Lillie M. Caldwell of Yeaddiss, KY, four grandchildren: Alicia Roberts, Laci Maggard, Trey Hendrix and Brittany Wells. Larkin is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends.
