The Obituary of Mr. Elihu C. Asher Elihu C. Asher, born August 30, 1925 departed this life on March 18, 2008. He was the youngest of six children born to McKinley Asher and Grace Mosley Asher of Hyden, Kentucky. As a child his mother would send him out to catch a chicken for supper because she would tell him he was as quick as a cat and the only child within ten miles of town who was faster than a flying bird . She would tell him that if he did not catch supper, that they would starve to death. His three older brothers would take him on their fishing expeditions. This meant that he had to do all of the grunt work, but he didnt mind since he was learning how to fish.
