Robert Egan was born on April 13, 1941 and departed this life on April 30, 2009 at the age of 68 years, 0 months, and 17 days. He was born at Fort Blackmore, Virginia, the son of the late Charlie Egan and the late Eva Rutherford. By occupation, he was a heavy equipment mechanic in the coal mines. Robert was an avid fisherman.He was affiliated with the Pentecostal church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Mae Egan and Ethel Egan; one brother: Howard Maggard; and an uncle and aunt that raised him as their own child: George & Verna Egan. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Mother of children: Myrtle Etta Egan of Bledsoe, Ky., two daughters: Sherry Brock & Freddie of Bledsoe, Ky., and Margie Stacey & Gary of Bledsoe, Ky. one son: George Jeffrey Egan & Sarah of Cumberland, Ky., two brothers: Gene Egan & Ira of Greenville, TN and Ralph Egan & Juanita of Hiltons, VA; one sister: Faye Snipes of Greenville, TN; nine grandchildren: Tasha Caldwell & Tim, Keisha Brock, Blake Whitehead, Freddie Brian Egan, Heavenly Egan, Emily Egan, Shylena Egan, Naomi Egan, & Janie Egan, one great-grandchild: Timothy Isaiah Caldwell. Also survived by a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Robert Egan will be conducted at the Bledsoe Pentecostal Church, Bledsoe, Ky., on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the church. Burial will take place in the Egan and Thompson Family Cemetery at Fort Blackmore, VA.under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. Pallbearers will include: Jeff Egan, Gary Stacey, Freddie Brock, Wesley Egan, Tim Caldwell, Bruce Chandler, J.R. Egan, and Blake Whitehead.
