The obituary of J.B. Minix Officiating Minister: Harold Turner Mr. J.B. Minix born March 31, 1933 passed away on January 23, 2009 at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 22 days old. He was born at Magoffin County, Kentucky the son of the late Hager Minix and the late Cassie Salyer Minix. By occupation he was a Welder in the coal mines and had worked for Blue Diamond Coal Company. J.B. was a former resident of Leslie County having lived for the past 15 years in Magoffin County and Barren County. He enjoyed hunting, carpentry, going to church and especially spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. J. B. Minix was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ and had served as a deacon of the church. J.B. was preceded in death by his parents: Hager & Cassie Salyer Minix; two brothers: Clyde Minix and Crate Minix; two sisters: Marjorie Minix & Mandy Conley; infant son: Rodney J. Minix. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Mother of Children: Sybil Rena Laymon of London, KY; two sons: Victor G. Minix & Connie of Louise, KY, Don Robin Minix of London, KY; two daughters: Connie Miniard & Lonnie of Louisville, KY, Lesa Etzinger & Mike McBride of Louisville, KY; four sisters: Orie Etta Grob of Knox, IN, Joanne Minix of In, Jewel Faye Carpenter of Bourbon, IN, and Blanche Minix of Wisconsin; two brothers: Junior Minix of Argus, IN, Larry Minix of North Judson, IN; five grandchildren: Shannon Miniard & Sheila, Kimberly Miniard, Trevor Minix & Remonica, Candace & James Perry and Cole Etzinger. Mr. J.B. Minix is also survived by six Great Grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. J.B. Minix will be at 1:00 p.m. - Monday - January 26, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, Kentucky with Harold Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky under the direction of the Walker Funeral Home Staff.The following will serve as pallbearers: Trevor Minix, James Perry, Cole Etzinger, Shannon Miniard, Lonnie Miniard and Mike McBride.
