Greg Whitaker Mr. Russell Lane Melton born June 18, 1961 departed this life on September 14, 2008 at the age of 47 Years,2 Months and 27 days old. He was born at Hazard, Kentucky the son of Troy & Odette Sizemore Melton. By occupation he was a mechanic and had been self-employed. Russell enjoyed working on motorcycles & playing cards as hobbies.He also enjoyed joking with small children--he affectionately called them all "monkey George." He was affiliated with the Wooton Presbyterian Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Mr. Russell Lane Melton was preceded in death by his nephew: J.T. Melton; and leaves surviving the following relatives. Parents: Troy & Odette Sizemore Melton of Wooton, KY; One Son: Rusty Melton of Wooton, KY; One Daughter: Dawna Jace Melton of Wooton, KY; Two Brothers: Jerry Melton & Carol of Wooton, KY and Bruce Melton of Hazard, KY; One Sister: Donna Napier & Mike of Wooton, KY; Five Nieces and Nephews: Larry Melton & Tonya, Laura Melton, Stacey Napier, Brian Napier and Ryleigh Napier; Three Great Nieces and Nephews: McKenzie Alexander, Hannah Melton and Ben Melton. Also survived by a host of treasured cousins and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Russell Lane Melton will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday - September 17, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, KY with Rev. Merle Caudill and Rev. Greg Whitaker officiating. The interment will follow in the Melton Family Cemetery at Wooton, KY., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
