He was 74 years of age at the time of his passing. He was the son of the late Bradley Pennington and the late Nannie Callahan Pennington. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. By occupation he was a retired coal miner (electrician & repairmen) for Whitaker Coal Company for 30+ years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting, gardening and being involved in the lives of his children & grandchildren. He was a member of the Wooton Church of Christ. Mr. Eugean Pennington was preceded in death by his parents; Son: Eddie Dean Pennington; Brothers: Ernest Arthur Pennington, Edmond Pennington, Felix Pennington, Kenneth Pennington, Isaac Pennington, Jimmy Pennington & Andy Pennington. Pennington of Waco, KY. and Bradley Jr. Pennington & Frankie of Berea, KY.; Special Friend: Hettie Langdon; Special Niece: Kathy Melton; Special Step-Daughters: Veala Couch & Barbara Morgan; Sisters: Mavie Joseph of Smilax, KY., Goldie Bailey of Berea, KY. and Alfie Bauman of Brookville, IN.; Grandchildren: Joey, Kristy, Eric, Tasha, Brandon, Kayla and Scott; 9 Great Grandchildren, 10 Step Great Grandchildren. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Eugean Pennington will be conducted on Sunday - September 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Smilax Church of Christ with Russell Baker, Harold Turner and Terry Joseph officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Adams Cemetery at Wooton, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Joey Lewis, Brandon Pennington, Eric Boggs, Keith Napier, Jimmy Fields and Gary Dewees.
