The Obituary of Mrs. Oda Keen Baker Officiating Minister: Pastor Steve Springer Mrs. Oda Keen Baker born December 26, 1911 departed this life on September 2, 2008 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester, Ky. She was 96 years, 8 months, & 26 days old. Oda was born at Dryhill, Ky., the daughter of the late Lee Keen & Louisa Sizemore. She was a retired sales clerk, having been employed by Keen's Variety Store in Hyden, Ky. Oda was a member of the Anna C. Brush Memorial United Presbyterian Church, Dryhill, Ky., & enjoyed sewing, knitting, & quilting as hobbies. Oda was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing on Dryhill Road, Hyden, Ky., at the time of her death. Mrs. Oda Keen Baker was preceded in death by her parents: Lee Keen & Louisa Sizemore, her husband: Daniel Boone Baker, one son: Ray Baker, two sisters: Sally & Nora, brothers:Cecil, Rex, Lee, Ernest, Charley, Kermit, an infant brother, & two grandsons: Johnny Ray & Jimmy Baker. Mrs. Oda Keen Baker leaves the following relatives surviving: one son: Edgar Matt Baker of Hyden, Ky., one brother: James Keen and wife, Lillie, of Dayton, Ohio, two sisters: Dorothy Williams of Hazard, Ky., Jean Hoskins and husband, Denver of Crossville, Tennessee, two grandsons: Randy Baker & Ricky Baker, five great-grandchildren: Jordan Baker, Ashley Baker, Andrea Baker, Melissa Tackett,& Chassity Walden, daughter -in-law,Aline Baker of Lebanon, Ohio, mother of her grandchildren: Marie Baker of Hyden, Ky. and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn her death. The funeral service for Mrs. Oda Keen Baker will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Thursday - September 4, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky., with Pastor Steve Springer officiating. The interment will follow in the Keen-Woods Cemetery, Dryhill, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
