The obituary Of Mrs. Fern Maggard Officiating Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis Mrs. Fern Maggard born March 16, 1930 departed this life on Monday- January 9, 2012 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. Fern was born at Hyden, KY the daughter of the late James Maggard and the late Nancy Jane Jones Maggard. By occupation she was a homemaker, former employee of the LKLP organization, Appalachian Motel and also was co-owner and operator of the Maggard Furniture Store with her husband Boyd Maggard. Mrs. Fern Maggard was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, KY. She enjoyed being a past member of the Hyden Lions Club, sewing, flower gardening and cooking as hobbies. Fern was preceded in death by her parents: James and Nancy, husband: Boyd Maggard, Daughter: Mary Gail Eversole, five brothers: Don, Larue, Ernest, Fred and Woodrow, one sister: Jettie Perkins, one grandson: Timothy Scott Sizemore. She leaves surviving the following relatives: Two daughters: Janice Marie Causey of Somerset, KY, Wanda Mosley of Hoskinston, KY, one son: Rodney Wayne Maggard & wife Patty of Confluence, KY, eight grandchildren: Patricia Lynn Adams, Charles Boyd Sizemore, Billy Keith Sizemore, Kessia Lynn Causey, Glenda Jean Mathes, Brandon Keith Mosley, Jonathan Maggard and Andrea Barrett. Also survived by ten great grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Fern Maggard will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday- January 11, 2012 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrell Maggard Family Cemetery at Wolfe Creek, KY.The following will serve as pallbearers: Brandon Keith Mosley, Charles Bino Sizemore, Billy Keith Sizemroe, Rod Maggard, Jacob Adams & James Brendan Sizemore.
