The Obituary for Mr. Orville Prater Officiating Minister: Pastor Frank Whitaker Mr. Orville Prater was born on July 15, 1944 and departed this life on May 23, 2010 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY at the age of 65 years. He was the son of the late Harry Prater & the late Pollie Hale Prater. He had been a resident of Leslie County for the last 10 years moving here from Indiana. By occupation he was a truck driver. He was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ. He enjoyed gardening and cooking as hobbies. Orville Prater was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Virginia Rawlins and brother: Monroe Prater. He leaves the following relatives surviving: Wife: Audrey Prater of Wendover, KY.; Sons: Paul Prater & Debbie of IN., Greg Prater & Amy of IN., Sherman Garringer & Barb of IN. and Michael Garringer & Brandy of OR.; daughter: Lorie Carpenter & Fred of IN.; brother: A.C. Prater & Joann of IN.; sister: Ella Manns & Lawrence of IN.; grandchildren: Ryne, Caleb, Jennifer, Taylor, Sahra, Katie, Kenzie, Lane, Isabella, Evelyn and Matt; great grandchild: Alayna. A visitation service will be conducted by the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home on Tuesday - May 25, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel,also a visitation will be held at the Hartzier Funeral Home, 305 West Rochester Street, Akron, Indiana on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 P.M., Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 28, 2010 @ 11:00 A.M., Burial will follow in the Akron Cemetery at Akron, Indiana.
