James Bowling, Jr. Mrs. Edna Mae Bowling Howard born June 30, 1927 departed this life on Feburary 26, 2009 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 81 years, 7 months, & 26 days old. She was born at Hyden, Ky., the daughter of the late Crawford Bowling & Mollie Maggard Bowling. Edna Mae was a self-employed merchant having owned and operated Howard's Grocery with her devoted husband, Virgil. She was a member of the Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Essie, Ky., and enjoyed going to church & reading her bible. Edna Mae enjoyed gardening as a hobby. She was a devoted & loving wife, mother, & grandmother. Mrs. Edna Mae Bowling Howard was preceded in death by her parents: Crawford Bowling & Mollie Maggard Bowling, her devoted husband, Virgil Howard, & two sons: Eulas Gene Howard & Dean Russell Howard. Mrs. Edna Mae Bowling Howard leaves the following relatives surviving: one son, Larry Douglas Howard of Hoskinston, Ky., two daughters: Anna Louise Howard of Hoskinston, Ky., Lexine Howard of Maitland, Florida, four sisters: Wanda Brock of Ohio, Carol Sue Keen, of Hyden, Ky., Helen Couch of Ohio, Lillian Foster of Indiana, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of treausred nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn her death. The funeral service for Mrs. Edna Mae Bowling Howard will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Essie, Ky., with Rev. James Bowling, Jr., officiating. The interment will follow in the Morgan Cemetery, Saltwell, Hoskinston, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. Friends may call for visitation after 7:00 p.m. - Saturday, February 28, 2009, at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Essie, Ky. The following will serve as pallbearers: Russell Howard, Mark Allen Wells, Mark Wells, Brian Wilson, Kevin Brunty,& Berlin Mosley.
