The obituary of Mr. Roy Pitts Officiating Minister: Rev. Billy Joe Lewis Mr. Roy Pitts of Smilax, KY, age 84, passed away on Nov. 10, 2012 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. He was born on March 23, 1928 in Breathitt County. He was the Son of the late Dewey Pitts and the late Cloie Armstrong Pitts. By occupation he was a retired Coal Miner, Farmer, Sawmill Worker and was involved in the Construction of Highway 699 with the WPA. He was a perfectionist in keeping his road clean. Roy was an avid hunter and outdoors man and he enjoyed knife and gun trading as hobbies. Roy was Preceded in Death by his Parents: Dewey and Cloie Pitts; His Loving Devoted Wife; Mollie Maggard Pitts; Daughter:Patsy Ann Simpson; Grandchild: James Curtis Simpson; Great Grandchildren: Jimmy Allen Mitchell and 1 Infant; 1 Sister; and 5 Brothers. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Son: Roy Pitts, Jr. and Sharon Langdon of Smilax, KY.; Daughters: Jacquline Collett & Forrest Scott of Stinnett, KY., Kathleen Fouts & Russell of Yeaddiss, KY., Maxine Mitchell & Jimmy of Wooton, KY., Brenda Ray Clark & Lewis Clark, Jr. of Smilax, KY., Darlene Clark & Martin of Smilax, KY.; Brother: Carl Pitts, Sr. of Elizabethtown, KY.; Raised like Brothers: Bill Pitts; Sister: Corene Reynolds of Michigan. Roy is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Roy Pitts will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. - Wednesday - November 14, 2012 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pitts Family Cemetery at Cutshin, KY. The following wills serve as Pallbearers: Russell Dean Fouts, Jimmy Bryan Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Jonathan Clark, Casey Clark, Andrew Collett, Tommy Heatwole, Andre Brock, Patrick Simpson, Kenneth Simpson, Rodney Simpson and Roy Jacob Pitts.
