Jerry Holland Mr. Sam Osborne, Jr. was born on September 02, 1931 and departed this life on March 18, 2011 @ 91 Echo Drive, Thousandsticks, Ky. He was 79 years of age. Sam was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Sam Osborne, Sr. & the late Ida Holland. Sam served honorably in the U.S. Army & Air Force. Sam spent his formative years in Leslie Co. & was a resident of Ohio until 1982. He was employed for 32 years as a crane operator for Price Brothers, a company which produced concrete products. Sam enjoyed showing and riding horses as a hobby. Sam had been a resident of 4898 Hell-Fer-Certain Road, Sizerock, Ky. since moving from Ohio in 1982. Sam Osborne Jr. was preceded in death by his Parents: Sam Osborne, Sr. & Ida Holland Osborne; Son: Ricky A. Osborne; Daughter: Dr. Rev. Susan Shelton; Brother: Billy Ray Osborne; Half-Brothers: Pearl, Earl, Gillie & Shelby; Sister: Zona Hopkins; Half-Sisters: Fannie Sizemore & Hattie Burns. Mr. Sam Osborne, Jr. leaves the following relatives surviving: Son: David S. Osborne & wife, Brenda, of Pebbles, Ohio; Mother of Children: Jane Osborne of West Union, Ohio; Brother: J.C. Osborne & wife, Vonnie of Hyden, Ky.; Sisters: Nola Rice of Sizerock, Ky., Anna Lee Jones & husband, Avery of Bear Branch, Ky.; Half-Sister: Ellen Jones of Berea, Ky.; 8 treasured Grandchildren; 7 treasured Great-Grandchildren, & a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Sam Osborne, Jr. will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. - Monday - March 21, 2011 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Holland officiating. The interment will follow in the Osborne Family Cemetery located at Thousandsticks, Ky. with Full Military Rites observed by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter # 133.
