The obituary of Mr. Carlo Rogers Officiating Ministers: Keith Bowling, Rev. Dan Griffiths & Rev. Charles Jack Mr. Carlo Rogers born June 21, 1943 departed this life on January 16, 2010 at the East Kentucky Veteran Center in Hazard, KY, at the age of 66 years. He was born at Manchester, KY the son of the late Matt Rogers and the late Mattie Hibbard Rogers. By occupation he was retired from the U.S. Army Veteran. Carlo was a Broom Maker for the Christian Appalachian Project and Berea College of Arts & Crafts. He enjoyed reading, fishing, small engine repair and was an avid gardener. Carlo was a member of the United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Leslie County for the past 13 years having moved here from Berea, KY. Carlo spent his formative years in Manchester, Ky. He was preceded in death by his parents: Matt and Mattie Rogers, four brothers: Delbert, Frank, Bill and Herbert, two sisters: Mary Betty and Nancy, Special friends: Park and Randall Osborne. He leaves surviving the following relatives: loving and devoted wife: Joyce Osborne Rogers of Essie, KY, one step-daughter: Cindy Villella of Alaska, one brother: Taylor Rogers of Manchester, KY, four sisters: Loretta France of Manchester, KY, Sue Mathis of Manchester, Ky, Virgie Herd of Indiana, and Cindy Howard of Virginia, two Step-Grandchildren: Gary and Arthur Galvin. Carlos is also survived by a host of other treasured family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Carlo Rogers will be held at 2:00 p.m. - Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Keith Bowling, Rev. Dan Griffiths and Rev. Charles Jack officiating. Interment will follow in the Osborne-Napier Cemetery at Essie, KY with Full Military Rites observed by the Leslie County DAV Chapter #133. Friends may call for visitation at 5:00 p.m. Monday- January 18, 2010 at the funeral home chapel.
