Eric Eisinger Mrs. Edith Jones Griffie born March 8, 1918 departed this life on August 14, 2008 at the Albert Chandler University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. She was 90 years, 5 months, & 6 days old. Edith was born in Leslie Co., the daughter of the late John Jones & Mollie Woods Jones. Edith was a homemaker and was a member of the Baptist Church. She was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing at 6373 Hell-For-Certain Road, Sizerock, Ky., at the time of her death. Mrs. Edith Jones Griffie was preceded in death by her parents: John Jones & Mollie Woods Jones, her husband, Charlie Griffie, two sons: John Griffie & Johnny Griffie, two daughters: Jeanette Woods,Irene Neal,seven brothers: Paul, Stanley, Felix, Floyd, Skelton, Elbert, Pearl; two sisters: Lucy & Nancy Ann. Mrs. Edith Jones Griffie leaves the following relatives surviving: three sons: Clifton and wife, Julie of Germantown, Ohio, James & wife, Pam, of Carrollton, Ky., David & wife, Linda, of West Carrollton, Ohio, six daughters: Jean Bray of Stinnett, Ky., Mollie Bowling & husband, Bradley of Oneida, Ky., Brenda Begley and husband, James, of Hell-For-Certain, Ky., Louise Griffie & Larry Sandlin of Hell-For- Certain, Ky., Ruby Mason & husband, Jr., of Moraine, Ohio, Della Pollard of Union, Ohio, three sisters; Pet Hull of Ohio, Lilla Wertz of Ohio, Ruby Stephens of Tennessee, 26 Grandchildren, 47 Great Grandchildren, 13 Great, Great, Grandchildren, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive to mourn her death. The funeral service for Mrs. Edith Jones Griffie will be conducted 1:00 p.m. - Sunday - August 17. 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky., with Rev. Don Blair & Rev. Eric Eisinger officiating. The interment will follow in the Griffie Family Cemetery, Sizerock, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff.
