The obituary of Mrs. Thelma Ledford Turner Officiating Minister: Rev. Wayne Bowling Mrs. Thelma Ledford Turner was born on April 6, 1934 and departed this life on Sunday ~ November 27, 2011. She was currently residing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida but had formerly resided in Berea, KY. since 1987. She was 77 years of age at the time of her passing. Thelma was the Daughter of the late Susie Davidson and the late Pearl Ledford. She was a former residence of Leslie Co. & Madison Co., Ky. By occupation Thelma she was a Homemaker. She enjoyed being in the lives of her family and was a Member of the Hyden Church of God. Thelma was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Pearl Ledford and Susie Davidson Ledford; Her Loving and Devoted Husband: Mr. Homer Turner; Brothers: Elmer Ledford, Donald Ledford and Clifford Ledford; Granddaughter: Tamara Lynn Turner. Surviving relatives include: Sons: James Richard Turner & Teresa of Berea, KY. and Homer David Turner & Gail of Richmond, KY.; Daughter: Sherry Turner Ashmore & Stephen of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Sisters: Bernice Prater of Nashville, TN. and Opal Howard & Marcus of Brandenburg, KY.; Treasured Grandchildren: James David Turner, Pamela Morgan Heinlein & John, Richard Travis Turner, Matthew Kyle Turner and McKenzee Cummins & David; 5 Treasured Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Ledford Turner will be conducted at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home ~ Hyden, KY. on Thursday ~ December 1, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Wayne Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Family Cemetery in Hyden, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Matthew Kyle Turner, Travis Turner, John David Turner, "Ike" Turner, Roy Turner, Jr., Doug Turner, Bill Turner and Shannon Turner.
