Mrs. Dora Brown Caldwell was born on March 12, 1923 and departed this life on February 25, 2009 at the age of 85 years. She was born at Barlow, in Harlan Co., Ky. the daughter of the late Shade Brown and the late Hannah Roark. She was a life-long resident of Leslie County, and was a homemaker by occupation. Some of her hobbies included gardening, going to the Senior Citizens Center& visiting and calling friends and family. She was affiliated with the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Warbranch, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Berry; and one son: Lester Caldwell. She leaves surviving the following relatives: three sons: Thaddeus Caldwell & Sue of Bledsoe, KY, George D. Caldwell of Warbranch, KY, and Terry Caldwell & Amy of McKee, KY; three daughters: Baltie Mannell & Stan of Holton, Kansas, Hazel Caldwell & Marlin of Tyner, KY, and Nancy Slaughter & Tim of Harrodsburg, KY; seven grandchildren: Leonard, Roger, Dora Mae, Taylor, Sheila, Martin, and Amber; three great-grandchildren: Ryan, Haley, and Kylee. A host of other treasured relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Brown Caldwell will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the New Hope Community Church in Warbranch, KY., with Rev. Denver Brock, Rev. Reed Brock, Rev. Eugene Roberts, & Rev. Teddy Collett officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2009 at the church.
