The Obituary for Mr. Ralph E. Howard Officiating Ministers: Rev. Fred Disney, Rev. Wayne Bowling, Rev. Eugene Roberts, & Rev. Camie " Bo" Caldwell Ralph E. Howard born February 3, 1931 departed this life on October 18, 2008 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, Ky. He was 77 years, 8 months, & 15 days old. Ralph was born at Mozelle, Ky., the son of the late John Howard & Siller Howard. Ralph was a former member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky., & was a founding & charter member of the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church, Asher, Ky. He had a very successful business career in Hyden & Leslie Co. He was the retired owner, along with his wife, Geraldine, of Ralph E. Howard Grocery & Service Station, Hyden, Ky. He also owned & operated C & S Motor Co., Howard's Garage, & Tower Mountain Coal Co. Ralph served on the Leslie Co. School Board from 1960-1972 & held the position of chairman. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Ralph was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing at 474 Middlefork Road, Asher, Ky., at the time of his death. Mr. Ralph E. Howard was preceded in death by his parents: John Howard & Siller Howard Muncy, three sisters: Edith Zollman, Dorothy Howard, Ellen Howard, & one brother: Charles Howard. Mr. Ralph E. Howard leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife of 57 years: Geraldine Mosley Howard of Asher, Ky., two daughters: Sharon Howard Mosley and husband, Jeffrey L. of Hyden, Ky., Deborah Baker & husband, Robert Daniel of Asher, Ky., two brothers: Otis Howard of London, Ky. & Earl Howard of Mozelle, Ky. one sister: Jessie Whitehead of Mozelle, Ky., three grandchildren: Julia Ann Asher & husband, Roscoe, Chassidy Danielle Brock & husband, Kendal, Jeffrey Christopher Mosley & wife, Leah, six great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Asher, McKenzie Brock, Breanna Asher, Kendal Ralph Brock, Allison Asher, Samantha Asher, two step-grandchildren: Robin Baker & James, Chris Baker, four step-great grandchildren: Tyler Newell, Tevis Newell, Ashley Baker, Christopher Baker, & a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Ralph E. Howard will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Monday - October 20, 2008 at the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church, Asher, Ky., with Rev. Fred Disney, Rev. Wayne Bowling, Rev. Eugene Roberts, & Rev. Camie " Bo" Caldwell officiating. The interment will follow in the Bowling - Mosley Family Cemetery, Asher, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. Friends may call for visitation at 5:00 P.M. - Sunday - October 19, 2008 at the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church Asher, Ky.
