Jr. Smith Lorene Holland Melton was born on December 2, 1966 at Beverly, Kentucky, the Daughter of Susie Collett Holland & the late John Henry Holland. Lorene passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. at the age of 45 years, 2 months & 5 days. Lorene was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a member of the Bowen's Creek Baptist Church at Essie, KY. She enjoyed being involved in the lives of her children & grandchildren, fishing & cooking. Lorene Holland Melton was Preceded in Death by her Father: John Henry Holland & Grandparents: Rev. Elmer & Delora Collett & Ed & Nancy Holland. She leaves the following relatives surviving: Mother: Susie Holland of Essie, KY.; Son: John Steven Collett & Gwen of Essie, KY.; Daughter: Amanda Rose Collett Barrett & Greg of Essie, KY.; Brothers: Ronnie Holland & Debbie of Roark, KY. and Rickie Holland of Essie, KY.; Sisters: Brenda Hubbard & Tyrone of London, KY. and Barbara Nordstrom & Fred of Essie, KY.; Grandchildren: Christopher Dakota Collett, Jacob Mckinley Barrett & Andrew Sebastian Barrett; Special Nieces: Michelle Feltner & Veronica Barrett; Special Nephew: William C. Hubbard; Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church, Essie, KY. with Rev. James Bowling, Jr., Rev. Taylor Adams, Rev. Teddy Collett & Rev. Jr. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen's Creek Cemetery at Essie, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: John S. Collett, Chris Collett, William Hubbard, Jonathan Roark, Ralph Barrett, Gary Melton, Steven Collett & Tyrone Hubbard. The following will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: John Chester Barrett, Rickie Holland & Rick Dixon.
