Chris Sale Bernice Baker Callahan was born on March 15, 1925 at Cinda,(Yeaddiss)Ky.the daughter of the late Dan & Nora Maggard Baker. She passed away on Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY. at the age of 85 years, 1 month & 4 days. Bernice was a life-long resident of Cinda, Ky. She was a homemaker, a member of the Solid Rock Bible Chapel, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed working in flowers & loved baby-sitting. She was a community servant for several people in the community. Bernice Baker Callahan was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband: Kelly Callahan, son: Donald Ray Callahan, daughter: Geraldine Callahan Bernard, great-granddaughter: Jessica Bowling, sister: Jean Maggard, brothers: Everett Baker & Ernest Baker & sister-in-law & sister-in-Christ: Zilpha Baker. She leaves the following relatives surviving: sons: Darrell Callahan & Freda of Wooton, Ky., Donnie Callahan & Karen of New Lebanon, Ohio & James Larry Callahan & Judy of Barbourville, KY., daughters: Jewell Kuhn & Bill of Germantown, Ohio & Debra Callahan Wright & Frank of London, KY., brothers: Bruce Baker of Stinnett, Ky.& Vernon Baker & Reba of Hyden, KY., sisters: Irene Gross & Chrisley of Cutshin, KY. & Shirley Wooton & Curt of Wooton, KY. grandchildren: Paula Renee Napier Cornett & George Cornett, Gregory Paul Napier & Daphne, Timothy Brian Callahan & Cassandra, James Darrell Callahan & Pam, Michelle Dawn Callahan Bernis & Bruce & April Nicole Callahan Mahan & Scott, great-grandchildren: Tamara Leona Bowling, Bethany Gail Bowling Turner & Joey, Makenna Napier, Courtney Dawn Callahan, Timothy Brevin Callahan, Natalie Abagail Callahan, Cameron James Callahan, Samantha Callahan, Mallori Dawn Bemis & Kaitland Michelle Bemis, a great-great grandchild Rylen Maggard, also a host of nieces, nephews & other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Bernice Baker Callahan will be conducted on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky. with Rev. Chris Sale officiating. Burial will follow in the Hensley-Wooton Cemetery at Wooton, Ky. The following will serve as pallbearers: Darrell Callahan, Donnie Callahan, Larry Callahan, James Darrell Callahan, Timothy Brian Callahan, Greg Napier, Kelly Callahan and Frank Wright.
