The obituary of Mr. David James Lewis. Officiating Minister: Rev. Ray Wilson. Mr. David James Lewis was born on December 8, 1946 and departed this life on April 26, 2009 at the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 18 days old. He was the son of the late Robert Lewis and the late Gracie Parker. He has been a life-long resident of Leslie County at the time of his death. By occupation he was a self-employed mechanic. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, and planting trees and flowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother: Joey Lewis. He leaves surviving the following relatives: wife: JoAnn Pace Lewis of Hyden, KY; two sons: James Patrick (J.P.) and Vicki of Somerset and Jed Daniel & Lori of Booneville, KY; two daughters: Rebecca Ann Jennings & Chris of Gaylesville, AL, Sarah Lynn Lewis & Michael Garmany of Henagan, AL; three brothers: Johnny Lewis & Shirley of OH, Paul Lewis of Hyden, and Bobby Lewis & Lois of Hyden; three sisters: Phyllis Pence of Harrogate, TN, Charlotte Napier & Jimmy of Hyden, and Donna Collins & Brent of Hyden; eight grandchildren: Crystal, Alex, Eric, Shelby, Tyler, Ethan, Eli, and Isaac. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for My. David James Lewis will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday-April 30, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Wilson officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday-April 29, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Owl's Nest Cemetery in Hyden, KY following the funeral service. Pallbearers will include: J.P. Lewis, Chris Jennings, Jamie Lewis, Jed Lewis, Eric Jennings, Donnie Roberts, Bill Campbell, Wade Lewis and Thomas Deaton.
