The Obituary of Homer Hoskins Officiating Ministers: Rev. James Bowling, Jr. & Rev. Jack Carpenter Mr. Homer Hoskins, 79, a resident of Burnside, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky. He was born August 18, 1929 at Stinnett, Ky., the son of the late Charlie & Nancy Roberts Hoskins. Homer was united in marriage on January 22, 1949 in Leslie County, Ky., to Nancy Morgan Hoskins and she survives. Also surviving are seven sons: Kenton and (Brenda) Hoskins of Somerset, Ky., Phillip and (Carolyn) Hoskins of Dayton, Ohio, Norman Ray and (Debra) Hoskins of Stinnett, Ky., Roger & (Teresa) Hoskins of Burnside, Ky., Michael Hoskins of Stinnett, Ky., Lonnie & (Patricia) Hoskins of Stinnett, Ky., & Homer Jr. and (Reba) Hoskins of Burnside, Ky.; seventeen grandchildren: Jennie Hausfield, Phillip Douglass Hoskins, John David Hoskins, Cleamon Hoskins, Kenny Woods, Valerie Hoskins, Matthew Hoskins, Jessica Rice, Jeremy Hoskins, Pamela Gibson, Michaela Hoskins, Tawanna Jones, Samantha Hoskins, Cody Hoskins, Eathan Hoskins, Leighann Hoskins, & Nickie Pennington; ten great-grandchildren, Three brothers: Farmer Hoskins of Somerset, Ky., Silas hoskins of Fairborn, Ohio, & Paul Hoskins of Stinnett, Ky., five sisters: Pearlie Witt of Dayton, Ohio, Irene Collett & Carolyn Hacker of Stinnett, Ky., Evelyn Carpenter of Mount Vernon, Ky., and Delora Bowling of Burnside, Ky. Homer also leaves surviving a host of treasured cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn his death. Homer was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie & Nancy Morgan Hoskins, four brothers: Vernon, Cleamon, Eldon Jack, and Clarenece Hoskins, one sister: Celdren Stone, and one grandchild: Brittany Danielle Hoskins. Homer was born and raised in Leslie Co., Ky. and moved to Somerset in 1984. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Stinnett Pentecostal Church of God, & loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. A visitaton for the public will be held Saturday evening, May 2, 2009 after 5:00 p.m. at Lange & New Bros. Family Funeral home, 603 Monticello Street, Somerset, Ky. A visitation will also be held Sunday evening, May 3, 2009, after 4:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Monday - May 4, 2009 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church with Rev. James Bowling, Jr. & Rev. Jack Carpenter officiating. The interment will follow in the Morgan Family Cemetery, Essie, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home officiating.
