The Obituary of Mr. Shade Hoskins Officiating Minister: Rev. Wayne Bowling Mr. Shade Hoskins born June 3, 1925 departed this life on May 24, 2008 at the Heartland of Centerville, Ohio. He was 82 years, 11 months, and 21 days old. Shade was born at Stinnett, Ky., the son of the late Spence Hoskins and Alice Ford Hoskins. Shade was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II,having served at the European front. After the war, Shade married Polly Young and moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he resided until his death. He was living at 208 Maryland Avenue at the time of his death. Shade retired from the General Motors - Vandalia, Ohio, plant in 1981. Shade spent his retirement years fishing, enjoying country cooking, watching his westerns and soap operas, playing/listening to bluegrass music & doting on his grandchildren. Mr. Shade Hoskins was preceded in death by his parents: Spence Hoskins & Alice Ford Hoskins, two brothers: Willie & Hughie Hoskins, & two sisters: Sally Simpson & Goldie Pope. Mr. Shade Hoskins leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife of 60 years. Polly Young Hoskins, one son: doug Hoskins of Dayton, Ohio, four daughters: Loretta Cathcart of St. Mary's Ohio, Barbara Adams of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda Martin & Claude of Vandalia, Ohio, Joy Hollon and Tony of Middletown, Ohio, two brothers: Omato Hoskins of Harlan, Ky., Henry Hoskins of Wooton, Ky., two Sisters: Grace Stidham of Wooton, Ky., Rose Hoskins of Wooton, Ky., ten grandchildren: Angie, Shade, Amy, Shawn, Timothy, Thomas, Michelle, Zachary, Dan, Kristin, eight great grandchildren, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral service for Mr. Shade Hoskins will be conducted at 1:00 p.m.- Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Bowling officiating. The interment will follow in the Owl's Nest Cemetery, Hyden, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff with full military rites observed by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter # 133.
