The Obituary of Mr. Stoney Messer Officiating Minister: Rev. Henry Clay Robertson Mr. Stoney Messer was born December 12, 1938 and departed this life on June 20, 2010 at his residence - 430 Pleasant Valley Road, Busy, Ky. He was of 71 years old. Stoney was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. Stoney was the son of the late Albert Messer and the late Alice Stidham. Stoney served honorably in the United States Army. He was employed as an electrician in the coal mining industry and also served as the the last Postmaster at Toulouse, KY., post-office. Stoney was a member of the Confluence Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and bluegrass music. He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Mr. Stoney Messerwas preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Clyde J. Messer, Irvin Messer, Eugene Messer and Bill Messer. He leaves the following relatives surviving: Wife: Verna Couch Messer of Busy, KY.; sons: Raymond Edward Messer, Stoney Wayne Messer & Rita and Cheyenne Messer all of Busy, KY.; daughter: Barbara Black & John of Michigan; brothers: Albert Messer, Jr. & Kathlene of Ohio and Harrison Messer & Thelma of Ohio; sisters: Floice Castro & Bill of Michigan and Rose White & Jim of Ohio; grandchildren: John, Austin, Stoney Lee Brandon, Angie and Amy; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Stoney Messer will be conducted on Wednesday - June 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Clay Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Messer-Stidham Family Cemetery at Busy, KY. with Full Military Rites observed by the Leslie County DAV Chapter #133.
