The Obituary for Mrs. Luvenia Vanover Melton Officiating Minister: Keith Bowling Mrs. Luvenia Vanover Melton was born on February 7, 1931 in Hyden, KY. and passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at her residence in Hyden, KY. She was 82 years of age at the time of her passing. Luvenia was the Daughter of the late Manuel Vanover and the late Mae Johnson Vanover and was the Widow of the late William Henry Melton. By occupation she was a Homemaker and was a former Cook at W.B. Muncy Elementary and was also a former Cashier at Sizemore's Market. Luvenia was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a member of the Hurt's Creek Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, going to senior citizens & the company of her treasured pet dogs, Shaggie & Zoe. She was Preceded in Death by her: Husband: William Henry Melton; Parents: Manuel & Mae Johnson Vanover; Brothers: Wilburn Vanover and Bobby Vanover. Luvenia leaves the following relatives surviving: Daughter: Mary Angela Melton Morgan & husband, Phillip of Hoskinston, KY.; 2 Sons: William Craig Melton & wife, Agnes of Wendover, KY. and Scott Melton & wife, Suzanne of Wooton, KY.; 6 Grandchildren: Todd Melton & wife, Toni, Frederick Morgan, Brooklyn Melton Campbell & husband, Jesse, Brent Morgan, Amber Luvenia Melton Napier & husband, Jason & Staci Melton; 2 Great Granddaughters: Iris & Ava Napier; 2 Sisters: Della Sue Harmon & Dan of Indian Creek, Michigan and Sybil Laymon of London, KY; Special Niece: Betty Sue Baker. She is also survived by a host of treasured Nieces & Nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Luvenia Vanover Melton will be conducted on Monday ~ April 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Cemetery in Hyden, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Will Dana Rice, Jason Napier, Jesse Campbell, Brent Morgan, Dan Harmon and Jason Harmon. The following will serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Logan Sizemore, Merida Napier, Robert E. Lee Asher, Onzie Sizemore, Phillip Morgan and Eugene Feltner.
