Departed this life on May 31, 2008 at the age of 97 years, 1 month, and 22 days old. She was born at Sizerock, Ky. The daughter of the late John Gay and the late Ibbie Hensley Gay. By occupation she was a homemaker and had been a lifelong resident of Leslie County, Ky. Mrs. Daisy Woods was a member of the Sizerock Baptist Church. Some of her hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening, reading her Bible, and sewing. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents: John and Ibbie Gay; husband: Jim Woods. She leaves surviving the following relatives: three sons: Emmett Woods of Sizerock, KY., Charles Woods & Ramonia of Sizerock, KY., Lawrence Woods & Brenda of Vandalia, OH, one daughter: Marie Williams & Charles of Ft. Meade, FL; one brother: Delbert Gay & Mollie Jane of Sizerock, KY.; four grandchildren: Bobby Williams, David Woods, Phillip Woods and Ryan Woods; two great grandchildren: Elizabeth Woods and Eleanor Woods. Also survived by host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Gay Woods will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jesse Martin officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday June 2, 2008 at the Funeral home. Burial will take place at the Woods Family Cemetery at Sizerock, KY.
