She was 78 years of age at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Jackson McKemy and Etta Bullock. By occupation she was a retired Sales Associate being employed by JCPenney. She was a resident of Irvine, KY. for the last 2 years coming from Biloxi, Mississippi. She enjoyed reading as a hobby. She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband: Luther York, Jr.; Brother: J.B. McKemy; Sisters: Nita Winkler and Wilma Hicks. Carol leaves the following relatives surviving: Son: Jack York of Irvine, KY.; Daughter: Bernetta York of Smilax, KY.; 6 Grandchildren & 15 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Jean McKemy York will be conducted on Sunday - Feb. 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at the York Family Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Greg Turner, Monty Turner, Randy Turner, Dewey Buck, Keith Buck and Marty Causey.
