Miles "Junior" Hubbard

Courtesy Obituary HUBBARD, Miles Junior " Of Bancroft, age 75, died Friday, September 9, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Harvest Time Tabernacle 7370 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc, his, son, Pastor Russell Hubbard officiating. Burial in Fremont Cemetery in Bancroft. Those desiring may make contributions to Vernon Lighthouse Church, 101 E. Washington St. Vernon, MI 48426. Visitation 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, 12-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Hubbard will be at the church from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Mr. Hubbard was born in Asher, Kentucky on April 18, 1936, the son of the late Carlo and May (Napier) Hubbard. He married Kathryn L. Thorpe on December 6, 1955 in Angola, Indiana. He was a member of Vernon Lighthouse. Mr. Hubbard loved hunting, archery, woodworking, bird watching fishing and loved the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He volunteered at Carriage Town Ministry and ministered at nursing homes in Shiawassee County. Mr. Hubbard was employed by GM and retired after 33 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. Surviving are wife, Kathryn; children, Darold (Cheryl), Russell (Renee), Teresa (John) Durr and Penny (Dan) Erickson; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Guliciuc; brother, Joe (Joyce); many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.
