The Obituary of: Mr. Price Park Roberts Officiating Minister: Pastor Sam Baer Mr. Price Roberts was born on July 22, 1927 in Hyden, KY. and passed away on October 29, 2012 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. at the age of 85 years. Price was the Son of the late Robert Roberts and the late Nancy Jane Asher Roberts. By occupation Price was a Retired Elementary and High School Teacher employed by the Leslie County Board of Education. In his early years of teaching he taught Math and in later years he taught Shop at the Leslie County High School. Price also served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. Price enjoyed flea marketing, woodworking and coin & knife collections as hobbies. He was an avid Historian and Genealogist. Most importantly Price was a Doting Uncle. He was affiliated with the Victory Mountain Grace Brethren Chapel. Price was a former Director of the NYC Program, Devout Republican - former Chairman Republican Party in Leslie County, Member of the Hyden Masonic Lodge #664 and was also a Shriner. He was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Robert & Nancy Jane Roberts; Wife: Delta Melton Roberts; Brothers: Rathburn Roberts, Hemmer Roberts, Penic Roberts, George Roberts and Harry Roberts; Sister: Nettie Gertrude McIntosh, Nephews: Bill Melton, David Melton, Jerry Allen Melton, & Larry Kent Asher. Price leaves the following relatives surviving: Sister: Naomi Ruth Roberts Roaden of Kettering, OH.; Nieces & Nephews: Larry Roaden, Brenda Gose, Marvin Roberts, James Roberts, Grace Stonecipher, Thelma Houghton, Helen Louise Curless, Hal Roberts, David Roberts, Robert "Bob" Roberts, Freida Mays, Edna Shaw, Nora Roberts and Selena Myracle; Roy Gordon Asher,James Asher, Paul Melton, Donna Melton, Laura Ann Melton, Samuel Melton, Nancy Melton, Jennie Melton, Cindy Melton, Sister-In-Laws: Nettie Roberts, Josephine Roberts and Martha Roberts; Special Great Great Nephew: Ryan Andrew Mitchell Asher Simpson; A host of treasured great nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Price Park Roberts will be conducted on Thursday ~ Nov. 1, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Baer officiating. Burial will follow in the Samuel Roberts Cemetery, (Short Creek) - Hyden, KY. Full Military Rites will be observed by the Leslie County DAV Ch. #133 at the Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be observed by the Hyden Masonic Lodge #664 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home. Pallbearers include: Bobby Roberts, David Roberts, Gordon Asher, Kent Asher, Bobby Simpson, Roy Paul Adams, William Kent Wells, Anthony Little and Stanley Simpson.
