The Obituary for Mrs. Gracie Collett Griffith Officiating Minister: James Bowling, Jr. Mrs. Gracie Collett Griffith was born on August 5, 1943 at Roark, KY. and departed this life on May 10, 2011 at her residence 880 Red Oak Rd. - Sassafras, KY. but was formerly of Essie, KY. She was 67 years of age at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of the late Caleb Collett and the late Hazel Napier Collett. She was a lifelong resident of Leslie County - Essie, KY. with the exception of living in Sassafras, KY. the last 3 years. Gracie was a member of the Lower Jacks Creek United Methodist Church at Roark, KY. and enjoyed fishing as hobbies. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband: Roscoe Griffith; Son: Richard; Sisters: Ellie, Anna Lee, Florence and Lola; Brothers: Ewell and Lester. Gracie leaves the following relatives surviving: Daughters: Hazel Bowling of Sassafras, KY., Louise Griffith of Hyden, KY. and Brenda Smelski & Steve of Batavia, NY.; Brothers: Harold Collett & Goldie of Roark, KY., Chester Collett of Tyner, KY., Caleb Collett, Jr. & Brenda of Roark, KY. and Willie Collett & Laura Belle of Roark, KY.; 9 Grandchildren & 1 to be born: Sherry, Shawna, Stephanie, Stacey, Brandon, Earl, Ricky, Matthew & Tyler; 15 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Gracie Collett Griffith will be conducted on Friday - May 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lower Jack's Creek United Methodist Church - Roark, KY. with James Bowling, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services at the Collett Cemetery - Essie, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Brandon Barrett, Earl Barrett, Ricky Barrett, Ralph Brock, Auda Brock and Taylor Bowling.
