Ted Couch Mrs. Alma Howard Farmer was born on October 8, 1938 and departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 72 years of age at the time of her passing. Alma was born at Rockhouse - Hyden, Ky., the daughter of the late Manual Howard & Mary Morgan Howard. Alma was very active and an involved member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky. since 1958 & a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was residing at 171 Flat Hollow Road, Stinnett, Ky., at the time of her death. Alama enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, digging ginseng, being in the outdoors, building and painting birdhouses, & quilting. Alma made several quilts for her family. Alma Howard Farmer was preceded in death by her parents & one sister: Ann. Mrs. Alma Howard Farmer leaves the following relatives surviving: her Loving and Devoted Husband: Clay Farmer of Stinnett, Ky.; four Sons:Bobby Farmer & wife, Rita, of Stinnett, Ky., Billy Farmer and wife, Lisa, of Stinnett, Glenn Farmer of Stinnett, Ky., James Darian Farmer of Stinnett, Ky.; four Daughters: Wanda Sue Caldwell & husband, Lonnie, of Stinnett, Ky., Barbara Ann Collett & husband, Dwight, of Essie, Ky., Janice Hacker & husband, Henry, of Stinnett, Ky., Ruth Begley & husband, Tommy of Hyden, Ky.; three Brothers: Tolman Howard & wife, Polly, of Stinnett, Ky., Roy Howard & wife, Jackie of Hyden, Ky., Ralph Howard and wife, Mary, of Stinnett, Ky.; one Sister: Ruth Caldwell and husband, Richard, of Stoney Fork, Ky.; 16 Treasured Grandchildren : Ryan, Miranda, Bryan, Samantha, Lana, Cody, Shane, Kyle, Kendra, Brittany, Trey, Coby, Cortney, Megan, Matthew, & Morgan ; 9 Treasured Great-Grandchildren. Alma also leaves surviving her very dear and devoted "Best Friend", Barbara Farmer. The funeral service for Mrs. Alma Howard Farmer will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Tuesday - May 31, 2011 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky. with Rev. Vernon Willard, Rev. Chad Hensley, & Rev. Ted Couch officiating. The interment will follow in the Howard & Leddington Cemetery, Stinnett, Ky. Friends may call for visitation at 6:00 p.m. - Monday - May 30, 2011 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God.
