The Obituary for Mrs. Helen Simpson Officiating Ministers: Dan Griffiths, Keith Bowling & Randy Woods Mrs. Helen Simpson was born on March 2, 1945 in Hyden, Ky and departed this life on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Lexington, Ky. She was 68 years of age at the time of her passing. Helen was the daughter of the late Homer Mosley and the late Lucy Whitehead Mosley. By occupation she was a homemaker. Helen was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was affiliated with the Stinnett Church of Christ & the Lower Beech Fork United Methodist Church. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sewing, gardening, and being involved in the lives of her family and especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents: Homer & Lucy Whitehead Mosley; Husband: George Simpson, Jr.; Daughter: Tonya Renee Simpson and Sister: Shirley Phillips. Helen leaves the following relatives surviving: 3 Sons: Freddie Simpson & wife, Mary Lou of Mozelle, Ky., David Simpson & wife, Mistey of Mozelle, Ky. and William Homer Simpson of Mozelle, Ky.; 2 Brothers: Homer Mosley Jr. & wife, Teresa of Indiana and Carson Mosley of Indiana. 9 Grandchildren; Tabatha Bell (Wendell), Natasha Griffitts (James), Ashley Simpson, Tiffany Simpson, Kimberly Simpson, Josh Simpson, Samantha Simpson, George Simpson & Deanna Simpson. 4 great-grandchildren; Caden Bell, Allie Griffitts, Emma Roark & Khloe Brock. She also leaves a host of other treasured relatives and friends surviving. Funeral service for Mrs. Helen Simpson will be conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 12:00 Noon at the Lower Beechfork United Methodist Church with Dan Griffiths, Keith Bowling & Randy Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Mosley Cemetery in Mozelle, Ky. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Freddie Simpson, William Simpson, David Simpson, Josh Simpson, George Simpson, Roger Simpson, Carson Mosley, Tim Bell, Wendell Bell, Shannon Mosley, B.J. Turner, Tim Roark, James Griffitts & Homer Mosley Jr. Visitation will be on Sunday ~ May 5 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the church & all day Monday until time of funeral service on Tuesday.
