The Obituary of Mr. Roger Kenneth Amos Officiating Ministers: Rev. Chad Hensley & Rev. Willie Garrett Morgan Mr. Roger Kenneth Amos born April 11, 1941 departed this life on December 27, 2008 at his residence located at 69 Cinnamon Lane, Asher, Ky. He was 67 years, 8 months, & 16 days old. Roger was born at Clintwood, Virginia, the son of the late Clayton Amos & Lola Taylor Amos. Roger was a retired coal miner having last been employed by Nally & Hamilton. Roger was affiliated with the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky.. He was very active in the Leslie County Band Booster's organization & enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling, & most of all spending time with his grandchildren as hobbies. Roger was a life-long resident of Leslie County, residing at 69 Cinnamon Lane at the time of his death. Roger Kenneth Amos was preceded in death by his parents: Clayton Amos & Lola Taylor Amos, two children: Ann Lorraine Amos & Ford Allen Amos, one brother: Claude Dale Amos, & one sister,: Sharon Amos Hoskins. Mr. Roger Kenneth Amos leaves the following relatives surviving: devoted & loving wife of fifty years: Josephine Simpson Amos of Asher, Ky., one daughter: Patricia Sue Maggard & husband, Ronnie of Asher, Ky., one brother: Landon Clay Amos and wife, Ruby of Hyden, Ky., one sister: Carola Faye Hensley of Somerset, Ky., three grandchildren: Marvin Charles Amos and wife, Hannah, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Lola Amanda Maggard of Asher, Ky., Paige Lorraine Maggard of Asher, Ky., one great - grandchild, Kaden Ford Amos of Cleveland, Tennessee, and a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral service for Mr. Roger Kenneth Amos will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Tuesday - December 30, 2008 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky., with Rev. Chad Hensley & Rev. Willie Garrett Morgan officiating. The interment will follow in the Hoskins Family Cemetery, located on Army Trail Rd., - Bad Creek, Asher, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff. Friends may call for visitation after 6:00 p.m. - Monday, December 29, 2008 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God, Stinnett, Ky. The following will serve as pallbearers: Billy Joe Baker, Ralph Simpson, Edmond Collett, Doyle Hoskins, Cloyd Hoskins, John Henry Hoskins, & Landry Collett.
