James Bowling, Jr. Mr. Riley Smith was born on February 22, 1934 at Stinnett, KY. and departed this life on December 19, 2010 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden, KY. He was 76 years, 10 months & 17 days of age at the time of his passing. He was residing at 488 Lawrence Nantz Lane Helton, KY. 40840. He was the son of the late Hughes Smith and the late Rebecca Howard. By occupation Riley was a retired gravel truck & school bus driver. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a member of the New Hope Community Church & currently attended Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed holidays, being involved in lives of his family, family gatherings, talking to friends, being active in the church, coon hunting, fishing, gardening and playing music. Mr. Riley Smith was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Carolyn Lorraine Smith; Daughter: Sandra Rose Smith; Son: James Glen Smith; Daughter-In-Law: Wanda Sue Smith; 3 brothers & 5 sisters. Mr. Riley Smith leaves the following relatives surviving: Sons: Ernest Smith of Helton, KY. and Larry Smith & Debbie of Asher, KY.; Daughter: Sherri Smith of Mozelle, KY.; Daughter-In-Law: Jan Smith; Grandchildren: Michael Joshua Smith, Covey Daniel Smith, Keisha Makayla Smith, Glynis Thompson and Richie Thompson; 3 Great Grandchildren. Funeral service for Mr. Riley Smith will be conducted on Thursday - December 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church with Rev. Eugene Roberts, Rev. Denver Brock and Rev. James Bowling, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at the Wilson Cemetery at Helton, KY.
