The obituary for Mrs. Carolyn Smallwood Morgan Officiating Ministers: Rev. Vernon Willard & Rev. Willie Garrett Morgan Mrs. Carolyn Smallwood Morgan was born on May 14, 1947 and departed this life on December 21, 2009 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital at the age of 62. Carolyn was the daughter of the late Elbert & Zula Rives Smallwood. She has lived in Leslie County since 1993 coming from Jefferson County, IN. for retirement. By occupation Carolyn worked in auto manufacturing and was employed by GROTE Manufacturing in Madison, IN. She was a faithful member of Stinnett Gap Church of God and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary there also. She enjoyed collecting Fenton glass wear, antiques and homemaking. Mrs. Carolyn Smallwood Morgan was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Kathy Jo Morgan; brother: Jess Smallwood; sister: Martha Smallwood Gilbert; great grandson: Lance Rollings. She leaves the following relatives surviving: Loving and Devoted husband of 43 years: Clay Morgan of Hyden, KY.; daughters: Lisa Morgan Rollings & Kevin of Jefferson Co., IN. and Tammy Morgan Bruner & Ron of Jefferson Co., IN.; brothers: Elmer Smallwood of Clarksville, IN., William Smallwood of Sellersburg, IN., George Smallwood of Clarkson, KY. and Leslie Smallwood of Roanoke, VA.; sisters: Wanda Goode of Nabb, IN. and Alpha Pruett of Louisville, KY.; a host of treasured neices & nephews; grandsons: Joseph Rollings & Aleasha, Cody Kemp & Brandon Kemp; and great grandson: Isiah Rollings. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Smallwood Morgan will be conducted on Thursday - December 24, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Gap Church of God. Interment will follow the funeral at the Garrett Morgan Family Cemetery at Hyden, KY. Friends may call the church for visitation Tuesday - December 22, 2009 from 7:30 P.M. until time of the funeral on Thursday.
