The obituary of Mr. Bige Burns Officiating Minister: Rev. Andy Turner Mr. Bige Burns 93, of Sizerock, Kentucky passed away Sunday-June 23, 2013 at his residence. Bige was born at Hyden, Kentucky the son of the late Green Burns, Sr. and Sophia Holland Burns. By occupation he was a retired Coal Miner and a previous employee of the City of Dayton, OH. Bige was a life-long resident of Leslie County with the exception of having lived in Dayton, OH for a period of 20 years. He enjoyed riding horses , working with mules, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. Bige was preceded in death by his parents: Green and Sophia; beloved wife: Hattie Osborne Burns; Daughter: Bonnie Jean; Great Grandson: Jackson Wayne Howard. He leaves surviving the following relatives: four sons: Wilard Burns of OH, Arnold Burns & Nadine of Sizerock, KY, Gillis Burns & Geraldine of Sizerock, Leon Burns & Mary of Sizerock, KY; four daughters: Molly Smith & Jack of OH, Sophia Jean Stutler & Curt of London, KY, Beulah Lee & Harold of Fort Myers, FL, Belinda Gibson & Roger of Oneida, KY; two brothers: Mitchell Burns of OH, and Roy Lee Couch of OH, three sisters: Alpha Burns of TN, Leroy Couch of Hyden, KY, Evalee Couch of IN; also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, 2 Great Great grandchildren. Bige is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Bige Burns will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday- June 26, 2013 at the Sizerock Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Tuner officiating. Burial will follow in the Burns Family Cemetery at Sizerock, KY. Friends may call for visitation at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday- June 25, 2013 at the church.
