Slusher born July 2, 1950 departed this life on January 15, 2010 at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 13 days old. He was born at Mozelle, Kentucky the son of the late Lee Slusher and the late Irma Jean Mosley Slusher. By occupation he was a coal miner and had been employed by Lee Co and Chaney Creek Coal Company. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was a member of the Hyden Masonic Lodge, he also enjoyed gardening. Charles was affiliated with the Methodist Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Mr. Charles A. Slusher was preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Irma Slusher, one sister: Joyce Brock. He leaves surviving the following relatives; wife: Sue Howard Slusher of Mozelle, Ky, one son: Scott Slusher of Lexington, Ky., Father-In-Law: Harold Howard of Mozelle, KY, Mother-In-law: Ellen Nantz of Stinnett, Ky, three brothers: Wade & Christine Slusher of Harlan, Ky. Eddie Slusher of Michigan, Bill & Linda Slusher of Mozelle, Ky, two Sisters: Jane & Frank Brock of London, KY, Sandra Howard of Mozelle, KY. Charles also leaves surviving a host of nieces, nephews and other treasured family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Charles A. Slusher will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday-January 17, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Slusher Family Cemetery at Mozelle, KY with his nephews serving as pallbearers.
