The obituary of Mr. Walter L. Jones. Officiating Minister: Rev. Wayne Bowling. Mr. Walter L. Jones was born on April 22, 1930 and departed this life on January 21, 2009 at the age of 78 years. He had been a resident of Ohio since 1956, coming from Leslie County. By occupation, he was a carpenter, machinist, and a part time preacher. Some of his hobbies included going to church and building for his family. Mr. Walter L. Jones was also a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents: Hazel & Dorothy North Jones; wife: Oma Turner Jones; and one sister: Molly. He leaves surviving the following relatives: one son: Attorney-at-Law Ray Jones & Stephanie of Brunswick, OH; two brothers: Sherman Jones of Cleveland, OH and Gene Jones; two sisters: Mary Lou and Pauline; seven grandchildren: Seane, Rachel, Justin, Christian, Caleb, Jon, and Jesse; and three great-grandchildren: Gavin, Jameson & Thomas. Also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Walter Jones will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral. Burial will take place at the Turner Cemetery in Hyden, Kentucky following the service under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff.
