The obituary of Mrs. Eliza M. Kilburn Officiating Ministers: Mack Lewis, Doug Caldwell and Donnie Melton Mrs. Eliza M. Kilburn born October 27, 1915 departed this life on May 29, 2008 at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 2 days old. She was born at Frew, Kentucky the daughter of the late J.W. Jack Melton and the late Lucy Hamilton. By occupation she was a retired Post-Mistress of Frew, Kentucky Post Office for 15 years. Mrs. Eliza Kilburn was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. She enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers. Eliza was preceded in death by her parents Jack & Lucy Melton; her husband: Carter Kilburn, Jr.; one son: Carlin Kilburn; three daughters: Pamela Jean and two infant daughters; one grandson: Elbert Melton, Jr. She leaves surviving the following relatives:Two Sons: Clinton Kilburn & Ann of Wooton, KY, Jeffery Kilburn & Rhoda of Wooton, KY, Three Daughters: Andrea Melton of Wooton, KY, Phylliss Kilburn of Hazard, KY, Connie Minix & Victor of Louisa, KY, one sister: Judy R. Rains of Louisville, KY, Twelve grandchildren: Mike, Phylliss Ann, Doug, Carter Allen, Randy, Shannon, Carlin, Pamela, Tom & Tim Kilburn, Trevor & Candi, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one special nephew: David Thompson of Alabama, and also a host of other treasured relatives and friends survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza M. Kilburn will be held at 2:00 p.m Sunday June 1, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Mack Lewis, Doug Caldwell and Donnie Melton officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m Saturday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in the Carter Kilburn Family Cemetery located at Wooton, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
