The Obituary of Mr. Sammy "Sambo" Deaton Officiating Ministers: Daniel Madden and James Madden Mr. Sammy "Sambo" Deaton, age 56, of 2770 Bull Creek Rd. ~ Hyden, KY. passed away on Thursday ~ March 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born on April 26, 1956 in Hyden, KY. and was the Son of the late Clyde Deaton and the late Frances Vanover Deaton. By occupation Sammy was a self employed plumber and electrician and had been a lifelong resident of Leslie County. Sam served honorably in the United States Navy. He enjoyed his dog, fishing, crossword puzzles, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson: Heydrienne Samuel. Sammy was Preceded in Death by his Parents: Clyde and Frances Deaton; Brother: Elbert Deaton. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Companion: Kathy Deaton; Sisters: Juanita Shepherd & Howard of Cornettsville, KY., Pat Elsea & Morris of Avawam, KY., Helen Combs & Jesse of Big Creek, KY., Bea Madden & James of Busy, KY., Barbara Deaton of Avawam, KY. and Denise Adams & James of Hazard, KY.; Nieces: Renea Combs, Kristen Hurt, Jaime Porter and Whitney Adams; Nephews: Buddy Sizemore, Jonathan Deaton, Brian Elsea, Nick Danner, Kevin Combs, Daniel Madden & Junior Deaton & Tiffany. Funeral services for Mr. Sammy "Sambo" Deaton will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Sunday - March 24, 2013 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with James Madden and Daniel Madden officiating.
