The Obituary of Mr. Tommy Baker Officiating Minister: Christopher Fugate Mr. Tommy Baker was born on Dec. 16, 1952 in Hazard, KY. and passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center in Hazard, KY. He was residing in Wooton, KY. and was 59 years of age at the time of his passing. He was the Son of the late George Baker & the late Rose Joseph. By occupation Tommy was a former Kentucky State Trooper & Detective and a Retired Lieutenant for the Kentucky State Police having been employed for 28 years. Tommy also served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. Tommy was affiliated with the Church of Christ and enjoyed golfing, gardening & traveling as hobbies. Tommy was Preceded in Death by his Parents: George & Rose Joseph Baker. He leaves the following relatives surviving: Brothers: William Baker & Delores of Indianapolis, IN. and Don Baker of Wooton, KY.; Sister: Nola Howard of Salem, IN.; Treasured Nieces & Nephews: Russell Baker, Breanna Rose Miller, Lisa Lemmons, Chris Howard, Tim Howard and DeeAnn Habegger. Funeral services for Mr. Tommy Baker will be conducted on Thursday ~ June 14, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home ~ Hyden, KY with Christopher Fugate officiating. Burial will follow in the John R. Hendrix Cemetery in Wooton, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Tim Howard, Chris Howard, Russell Baker, James Glen Caudill, Clyde Caudill, Tim Kilburn & Johnny Sizemore. Full Kentucky State Police Rites & Full Military Rites will be observed by the Kentucky State Police & Leslie County DAV Chapter #133.
