The obituary of Mrs. Betty J. Asher Nantz Officiating Minister: Rev. Cova Asher & Rev. John Asher Mrs. Betty J. Asher Nantz born November 24, 1928 departed this life on September 05, 2008 at 3:10 p.m. at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida. She was 79 years old. Betty was born in Leslie Co., Ky., the daughter of the late Richard & Lucy Hensley Asher. She was employed by the Square D Corp., and at a meat packing plant. Betty had been a resident of Lehigh Acres, Florida for 26 years. She was a former resident of Leslie Co., Ky. & Warsaw, Ky. Betty was a member of the Eastern Star & enjoyed writing poetry, drawing birds, working crossword puzzles, & flower gardening as hobbies. Mrs. Betty Asher Nantz was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Earl Nantz, parents: Richard & Lucy Hensley Asher, four children: Barbara, Donna, Candy, & Michael, & one granddaughter: Glenna, Mrs. Betty Asher Nantz leaves the following relatives surviving: three daughters: Loretta Davis & Danny of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Ranny Murray & Eugene of Williamsburg, Ky., Vanessa Nantz of Ashville, North Carolina, one son: Nakia Nantz and Jessica of Cape Coral, Florida, three brothers: Pearl Asher & Cathy of Hyden, Ky., Bobby Asher & Sharon of Corinth, Ky., & Jimmy Asher & Janice of Glencoe, Ky., four sisters: Rosie Collett of Hyden, Ky., Bonnie Hoskins & Wilk of Carrollton, Ky., Alice Ruth Beers of Warsaw, Ky.,& Daisy James of Dry Ridge, Ky., nine grandchildren: Richard, Tonya, Robert, James, Tracy, Robert Earl, Shonda, Heather, & Trisha, 21 Great Gradchildren, along with a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn her death. She will be sorely missed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, along with countless family members and friends. " She may be gone , but she will never be forgotten". The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. - Friday - September 12, 2008 the Bear Branch Baptist Church, Bear Branch, Ky. with Rev. Cova Asher & Rev. John Asher officiating. The interment will follow in the Asher Family Cemetery located at Hyden, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
